Bio

Sarah Browning is a multimedia artist who creates images, stop-motion animations and songs with watercolor, mixed media, cut paper, ukulele and voice.


As a teaching artist, she enjoys working with children and families engaged in creative projects and interdisciplinary studies, with experience at Temple De Hirsch Sinai, Family Learning Program, Village Green Perennial Nursery, Alki Bathhouse Art Studio, Three Tree Montessori, Seattle Jewish Community School, and the Seattle Children's Museum.


In 2023-24 she participated in the first ever Educator's Studio Fellowship with the Jewish Studio Project. She completed the TATLab - Teaching Artist Training Lab 2012-13, offered through Washington State Arts Commission, with support from National Endowment for the Arts. She completed the Artist Trust EDGE Program in 2007. Sarah graduated with a BA in Visual Art at the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1998. 


Sarah's art has been featured on the covers of online journal The Apple Valley Review as well as poetry chapbooks In The Chair Museum and Picking Cherries in the Espanola Valley, by Leah Browning, available from Dancing Girl Press. She has shown her work at venues in Washington, California, and New Mexico, including: Narthex Gallery, Dubsea Coffee, ArtsWest Gallery, DameBuilder Collective/Columbia City Theater, Rockwell Realty/Greenwood ArtWalk, C&P Coffee Company, the Alki Bathhouse Art Studio, Circa Neighborhood Bar and Grill, the Secret Garden Bookshop/Ballard Artwalk, the Windermere Office/West Seattle Art Walk,  Edmonds Center for the Arts-"Art of our Mothers", Alki Art Fair, Seattle Public Library-Southwest Community Show, Columbian Way Massage, Elder Green Gallery and Coffee shop, Fuller Lodge Art Center-Los Alamos, NM, George's Bakery-North Bend, WA, Stevenson College Coffee Shop-UCSC, What is Art?-Santa Cruz, CA, and Cafe Pergolesi-Santa Cruz, CA.  


Originally from northern New Mexico, she now lives in Seattle with her family and pet rabbit.
